Youth Voice
Welcome to Youth Voice! As part of my efforts to get younger people more engaged in formal politics I thought I'd dedicate some space on my webpage to four writers between the ages of 14 and 26. We have confirmed two writers so far, Haylee Fortin and Cheyenne Seibel. I met Haylee at Nellie McClung School when Haylee was part of a BLAST team working to ban power walls, and Cheyenne was my MLA For A Day last year. Both are now in high school.
I've just asked them to write about a current issue, preferably but not necessarily provincial, from their point of view. I offer all the writers some research support and access to reference material if they want it but I don't censor or comment, this is their space to air their ideas.
